Lavan Legal, the firm spawned from the bulk of Phillip Fox's Perth practice has chosen Aderant's Expert system for practice management. Lavan, whilst being relatively new on the Perth scene have apparently beaten out Jackson McDonald as the largest local firm with 200 partners and staff (although Jac Mac's website states that they have 180 staff and 23 partners - close call). While we're unsure as to exactly which platform was installed ("Expert" appears to include Keystone, CMS.net and Javalin) it is most likely the CMS.net product. It's good to see some competition in the practice management field as recent wins have started to look a little skewed towards Elite. More here: http://www.aderant.com/assets/pressreleases/2007/10102007.aspx ----------- Just as a postscript, since we published this article, Don Howren, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Aderant kindly took the time out to talk us through their "Aderant Expert" product. It appears that we were entirely wrong about Expert including Keystone and CMS.Net and it in fact appears to be a completely new practice management system written in .Net 3 (but with its database schema roots in CMS.Net). Looks interesting, particularly the use of Windows Workflow Foundation as the workflow engine. |
