Highlights include:
- Large firm budgets are down from 2006 while smaller firm budgets are up;
- People are "excited" about Virtualization, MS SharePoint, mobility, unified communications and digital dictation technology;
- The big challenges facing IT departments are lawyer education and training, staffing, data volumes and email management;
- Firms are using external consultants for software selection and review of internal processes.
And if that doesn't satisfy your thirst for data, Am Law have published their 2007 software chart.
It doesn't really feature anything out of the ordinary. Interwoven have increased market share at the expense of OpenText, the practice management vendors are pretty static and Redwood holds the lion's share of the BI market.
