Hummingbird releases roadmap while local manager resigns PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 13 February 2007
Open Text have announced their next generation document management system, code named DM X. From the press release it appears that the back end will be using the Open Text repository but utilising a new Hummingbird developed "Rich Text" front end which will feature "fully customizable dynamic business views available through Microsoft Explorer, Microsoft Outlook 2007 and the 2007 Microsoft Office system authoring applications".

Open Text also claim that clients can continue to manage their documents stored in DM5 as well as content in OpenText's Livelink and Microsoft's Sharepoint.

Customers probably shouldn't hold their breath for the new software as the fist shipment is due in early 2008 with a preview at their global conference in October this year.

Locally, Hummingbird's regional manager Tony Hughes has moved on to take up the role of General Manager Sales – Australia for Objective.
