Aderant have thrown away any semblance of version numbering and announced the latest release of their flagship "Aderant Expert" practice management system, dubbed "Golden Gate.

The major update is the inclusion of a new service oriented architecture and workflow functionality, based on Microsoft's Windows Workflow Foundation.  The workflow foundation has been used to produce a pre-packaged workflow for file opening, suitably titled "Expert File Opening".  Now that Aderant have built WWF into their applciation, we assume that this will be the first of many pre-made workflows.

The update also brings an "innovative new application navigation metaphor" called Expert Assistant, which we can only guess to be a new toolbar or navigation button.  Time recording has also been improved, something dear to the heart of any law firm Managing Partner or CFO.
