For those of you in the game of large litigation, due diligence, M&A or other things that require scanning large volumes of documents, CCH have announced a beefing up of their scanning and OCR capabilities.
Their new product (using
C-Vista's compression algorithms) provides:
- Automatic rotation of pages based on recognition of text rather than the more simple column recognition;
- Image stamping of pages automatically removing the need to barcode pages;
- Better compression of PDF output.
The new capabilities sound good, particularly the ability to remove barcoding from the workflow. Why hasn't anyone thought of that before?
