Legal Technology Awards

ALM's Law Technology News have announced the winners of the US Legal Technology awards, selected by subscribers of the magazine. The winners were:
  • Case/Practice Management Software (Large Firm): CaseMap 7 - LexisNexis;
  • Case/Practice Management Software (Small/Mid-sized Firm): Time Matters v8 - LexisNexis;
  • Docket & Calendaring: Time Matters v8- LexisNexis;
  • Document Management System: WorkSite - Interwoven;
  • EDD Hardware/Software: CT Summation CaseVault 5.0 - CT Summation;
  • EDD Service: CT Summation CaseVault 5.0 - CT Summation;
  • Knowledge Management System: CaseMap 7 - LexisNexis;
  • Litigation Support Software: CT Summation iBlaze 2.8 - CT Summation;
  • Litigation Support Consultant: Case Analysis and Consulting Group - LexisNexis;
  • Product of the Year: Acrobat 8 Professional;
  • Records Management Software: WorkSite - Interwoven;
  • Timekeeping and Billing System (Large Firm): Elite Billing Manager - Thomson Elite;
  • Timekeeping and Billing System (Small/Mid-sized Firm): Tabs3 Billing Software - STI;
  • Trial Presentation Software: Trial Director 5.1 - InData Corporation
And on the other side of the Atlantic, the UK legal Technology awards were happening. We won't try to reproduce the enormous list of awards here, but probably the most interesting for this market is the "Best of Breed" award which went to Bighand (closely followed by Redwood and Tim KM) and the "Online Product of the Year" which went to Vinciworks with Mimecast following up.

It's interesting to see that the US awards are dominated by LexisNexis and CCH where the UK market seems to be still somewhat fragmented.  Perhaps ripe for further consolidation?
