With many courts issuing e-filing directives, the update brings with it the ability to create a "binder" of documents for filing as a single PDF. Users can compile a mix of Word, Excel or PDF documents into a single PDF with “Table of Contents, cross-document bookmarks and links to every document in the collection irrespective of type”.
The documents in the binder can be easily re-ordered, and custom headers and footers can be applied to the entire collection. Headers and footers can include page numbers, DMS file information, timestamps and Bates numbering (for those of you who aren’t litigation nerds, you can find more information on Bates Numbering at Wikipedia here).
DMS integration is also improved with users able to right click on a document in the DMS to convert it to a PDF and have it automatically saved as either a new document or a new version.
